An invisible congregation gather, to make sweet music from the layered dark of womb They take their place, up front, up high, wailing loudly as they go For they know nothing of holding back, river and rapture come too easily now Candles illuminate, guiding highs of high and lows so low All is compostable here, food for the earthworms and the ones that glow Endless storms of grief and long held hurts saturate the soil, turning it damp Is there a rock upon which to stand? A tunnel to burrow through, or a tree to climb? Somewhere to touch beyond this grief and know the possibility of release To know the breadth of a rounded song, where structures of woe crumble amidst a seed swop and an om bomb Beings of every kind, come, hear the music, hear this music Soaring melody will court you, and be, oh so, tender with you, words turn the past, and mix in some brown, with all eyes on the present And there, the song of Rose, becomes songs of Roses In freedom they come, peace! they cry, for joy cannot truly know itself without its other, its radical other After metamorphosis, you know, life will have its way The deepening has begun, sit down, and have some tea, for it has travelled far to tell its ancient wisdom Listen, listen, the grandmothers are speaking
On the eve of Pluto’s move into Aquarius, I attended a candle lit Mobius Loop concert in the Unitarian Church, Ullet Road, Liverpool. It was my first time to see the band, who describe themselves as ‘a folk band with a twist’. It was a gathering for us to remember together the truth of what we are and may be. They channelled such magic, told of their stories, their grief and their passions, and performed many of their healing songs, including ‘In My Country’, ‘Red Tent Rising’ and ‘Mothers of Man’. Each a call for the healing and honouring of the great mother, Gaia, in spirit, mind, body, animal and land. They also shared their song ‘Sacred Lancashire’ which is about the loss of Alex and Rose’s child Gemi. Mobius Loop’s cocreations honour the womb and the seed, and the life born from this sacred union.
